What is Live Therapeutic Music?
Live Therapeutic Music (LTM) is music performed in a variety of healthcare settings with the intention of helping patients alleviate a physical, emotional, or mental concern. Common usage of the term typically refers to acoustic music played or sung live in the presence of a patient or group of patients to enhance the healing atmosphere.
Angela and other LTM practitioners perform while holding an awareness that bringing beauty, presence, and the power of music into a healthcare environment may facilitate healing. Therapeutic musicians focus on meeting a patient’s present needs with therapeutic music in-the-moment, leveraging the intrinsic healing elements of live music and intentionality to create a calm, comforting environment conducive to healing.*
"(Angela) has been a highly valued member of the spiritual care team and is greatly appreciated for her talents singing and playing music while providing comfort and a healing presence at the bedside of patients.”
